Brandy Lopez – AutoBiography
San Antonio native, Brandy Lopez, stands at the forefront of the Latino entertainment industry, as the Executive Producer and Host of the extremely popular program, Latin Fusion TV.
Latin Fusion TV reaches thousands of viewers each week, delivering artist interviews, entertainment news, information and heartwarming human interest stories to a worldwide audience. Latin Fusion TV is both spiritual and inspirational and highlights people not parties.
Brandy strives to entertain while making a difference in the lives of her viewing audience. Her family-friendly broadcasts are filled with diverse entertainment, great music and informative interviews. Most important, however, is the message of hope, faith and charity that Brandy exhibits in her life, her actions and on Latin Fusion TV.
Brandy began her acting career in school plays starting at the age of five. She appeared in her first television commercial when she was 11 and has worked in both English and Spanish speaking soap operas, most notably with a role on General Hospital.
Brandy left acting and after a 10 year hiatus, she returned to her roots in the entertainment industry, starring in a commercial for the 15th Annual Tejano Music Awards.
All the while, Brandy dreamt of her own television program.
In 2006, Brandy worked as a special radio correspondent for the Tejano Classic Radio Show. Later that year, Brandy fulfilled her dream with the debut of Tejano Classic TV at the Tejano Academy Awards in San Antonio, Texas.
Tejano Classic TV was an immediate success in San Antonio and within the Tejano music market, so much so, that Brandy and her show were invited to participate in the Inaugural Cinco De Mayo celebration in Sumter, South Carolina. In a collaborative effort with city and military officials, Brandy paved the way for Tejano entertainment to reach stationed troops in the surrounding area.
Additionally, Brandy was a guest speaker at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina during Hispanic Heritage Month, in 2007, where she was honored with a plaque by city and military officials and handed a “Key to the City” by Sumter’s Mayor and South Carolina’s state senator.
Later that year, Brandy co-hosted 27th Annual Tejano Music Awards, the Tejano Academy Awards and was a presenter at the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame Ceremony in Alice, Texas.
With Tejano Classic TV, Brandy ventured into uncharted territory as it was the only broadcast of its kind in San Antonio. She quickly became one of San Antonio’s most visible media personalities and Latinas during this time.
After two years, Brandy realized there was a greater void to fill and created Latin Fusion TV to cover the growing Latino cultural market. Latin Fusion TV highlights Hispanic and mainstream events locally and in the surrounding San Antonio area.
It is apparent that Brandy and Latin Fusion TV’s reach extends beyond Tejano music, as her influence as a Latina entertainer and host grows.
Despite the success of her show, Brandy continues to pursue new endeavors in the television and entertainment industry.
Known for her vibrant personality and captivating charm, Brandy is now in popular demand as a host and participant in various community and charitable events. Brandy has covered the San Antonio Christmas Parade and actress Eva Longoria’s Celebrity Golf Tournament among other events. Brandy has sung the National Anthem (twice) for former San Antonio Spur and NBA Hall of Famer, George “Iceman” Gervin.
Currently, Brandy sits on the board for the Center for Family Relations (formerly San Antonio Kids Exchange) and the Greater San Antonio Film Council. Additionally, she is involved with the AIDS Foundation among many other local organizations. She is also the Ambassador for the Pinatas in the Barrio, an official Fiesta Event.
As Chairman of the 7th Annual Celebrity Dinner for the Center for Family Relations, she brought in many local Hispanic artists and celebrities. This was the first year that an emphasis was placed on recruiting from within the growing and talented Hispanic community.
Brandy’s work as the Executive Producer of Latin Fusion TVhas proven invaluable among the smaller organizations as she offers her talent and provides coverage to bring awareness to their cause.
In 2009, she partnered with her Executive Producer and co-host, Michael Arellano, who has taken the Latin Fusion TV show and website in a new direction. The new project endeavors to broaden both scope and reach.
Brandy’s work as an Executive Producer and host has led her back to the film industry, both as an actress and a producer. Collaborating in a local San Antonio film project with writers, directors and producers from San Antonio, Austin and Hollywood, she wants to bring film back to where it originated.
Many doors have opened for acting and production projects and she hopes to become one of San Antonio’s top Latina Producers.
Brandy pursues her dreams with the same passion that she lives her life, emphasizing her trust and faith in the Lord which is exhibited by her actions.
She receives her inspiration from the positive feedback sent via email from across the United States and as far away as Italy, Alaska and troops in the Middle East.
With enthusiasm, Brandy welcomes her future and that of Latin Fusion TV stating: “I walk by faith and not by sight. I thank everyone who continues to stand by me on this journey, together we can reach for the stars!”
